The KliK Foundation is tasked under the Swiss CO₂ act to procure until 2030 around 40 million tons of CO₂ equivalents in international offsets, amounting to the expected residual of Switzerland's commitment to be delivered on top of domestic efforts.

The KliK Foundation funds the development of pre-selected activities. During this phase the Mitigation Activity Design Document of the respective Activities is established jointly with the programme promotor and the involved government entities.
