Programme development and implementation
To implement the collaboration mechanism, Senegal and Switzerland signed a bilateral agreement in July 2021, marking the start of joint climate protection measures. The two countries are among the first to pursue voluntary collaboration under Article 6 of the Paris Agreement. In partnership with government and private organizations, the KliK Foundation will in future support and finance climate protection projects in Senegal that contribute to international and local commitment and hence to sustainable development.
The Senegalese government, represented by the Secretary General of the Ministry of Environment, M. Amadou Lamine Guissé, and Swiss Ambassador Andrea Semadeni presented the progress of the joint commitment in Dakar on May 10, 2022, and launched the activity of KliK International in Senegal.
