Uruguay and Switzerland launched a cooperation under Article 6.2 of the Paris Agreement in December 2022. The aim is to contribute to the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions (GHG) in Uruguay beyond the Nationally Determined Contribution (NDC) that the country has set for itself.
The KliK Foundation is the carbon offset grouping for Swiss fuel importers and is required to reduce around 20 million tonnes of CO2e internationally. The KliK Foundation is therefore financing the development of certain programmes in Uruguay under Article 6.2 of the Paris Agreement. To strengthen its commitment to climate protection, it invites programme developers and owners to submit their programme ideas. Programmes in the areas of biogas, e-mobility, green cooling, bioethanol, AWD, organic waste, wastewater treatment and landfills are particularly welcome.
Programme developers with programme ideas for Uruguay, as well as for all other countries that have concluded bilateral cooperation agreements* with Switzerland are welcome to register and submit their proposals.
