The KliK Foundation will initiate its activities in Uruguay to support the development of climate protection programmes with the aim to purchase the resulting Internationally Transferred Mitigation Outcomes (ITMOs). Uruguay and Switzerland sign bilateral cooperation agreement
Strengthening the commitment to climate protection in Uruguay
On 12 December 2022, Switzerland signs a climate protection agreement with Uruguay. Bilateral agreements on cooperative climate action under Article 6 of the Paris Agreement set the standard for climate protection programmes, including strict requirements for the integrity of environment and human rights as well as preventing double counting on emission reductions.
