At an initial meeting as of September 4, the Minister Maria Heloísa Rojas and her team received the Chargé d’Affaires a.i of the Swiss Embassy to Chile, Benjamin Müller, and the KliK Foundation. Key discussions between Switzerland and Chile were on the agenda of the bilateral agreement. The KliK Foundation presented its interest in supporting mitigation activities under Article 6 as well as the programme for the week.

Several meetings were then held with representatives of the relevant Chilean sectoral ministries to lay the groundwork for an understanding of the technologies and sectors that might qualify under Article 6. This information has also been announced during a private sector workshop where the KliK Foundation presented opportunities to develop and invest in climate protection programmes in Chile. The Ministry of the Environment participated in this event and gave information on a positive list of A6 project types in development. The ministries are still working to finalise the list and we will make it available as soon as possible.
