Dear Subscriber

Ahead of the adoption of the Paris Rulebook, the KliK Foundation has begun developing concepts, defining requirements and supporting activities that concretise collaboration under Article 6.

Implementing mitigation activities in accordance with the principles set forth in the bilateral agreements with Switzerland allows host countries to access additional mitigation options while ensuring the avoidance of double counting. Collaboration under Article 6 is voluntary: the parties remain fully sovereign in deciding which implementation and transfer opportunities to seize.

At the COP26 KliK presents insights from within the operationalisation of Article 6:

Side Event "Operationalizing Article 6", 8 Nov at 16:30 GMT

Collaboration under Article 6 allows host countries to access new options for GHG mitigation. It is governed by national regulations and bilateral agreements. This side event presents first experiences with Article 6 collaboration and addresses relevant practical issues, thus mapping possible roads to operationalization. Registration opens on 1st November.

Workshop "Blueprints for Article 6 Activities", 10 Nov at 13:30 GMT

The workshop will address the technical aspects of Article 6 implementation. Current examples will be presented to show how Article 6 activities can be conceived to successfully complement and fit within national frameworks and priorities, offering blueprints for replication. The event will be interactive and provide an opportunity to exchange on practical issues related to the design and implementation of cooperation activities. Registration opens on 1st November.
