Building on this, Switzerland will be able to count the achieved emission reductions towards its reduction target under Article 6 of the Paris Agreement. The Federal Council's decision is an important step in achieving Switzerland's Nationally Determined Contribution, NDC. Comparable agreements already exist with Peru, Ghana, Senegal, Georgia, Vanuatu and Dominica.
