KliK Foundation at the Sustainability Expo 2022
At the Sustainability Expo 2022, Dr Jacqueline Jakob presented first programme opportunities and discussed processes to support climate protection initiatives in Thailand, designed to generate mitigation outcomes that may be internationally transferred and sold to the KliK Foundation as ITMOs (as the carbon credit units under the Paris Agreements cooperative approach are called)
Meeting with Thai Minister of Environment
The KliK delegation and the Chargé d’affaires of Switzerland, Mr. Conradin Rasi, had a very productive meeting with H.E. Varawut Silpa-archa, Minister of Natural Resources and Environment of Thailand. They discussed about the first program on e-buses under the Thai-Swiss bilateral cooperation agreement, as well as potential new programs in sectors of mutual interests, such as e-mobility, sustainable cement, renewable energy, etc. Dr Jacqueline Jakob also met with the main institutions in charge of Article 6’s implementation under MoNRE (ONEP and TGO), as well as with relevant line ministries such as Ministry of Transport, Ministry of Agriculture (Department of Agriculture and Department of Rice).
During this mission, the KliK delegation had the opportunity to present the Foundation’s role and activities, as well as to explain the procurement process of the Internationally Transferred Mitigation Outcomes (ITMOs) under Article 6 of the Paris Agreement to many interested stakeholders.
Special thanks to the Swiss Embassy in Bangkok and the Swiss-Thai Chamber of Commerce for their support throughout the whole mission!
